Welcome Note

I am delighted to invite you to our 2019 Annual General Meeting, to be held at University College Dublin, from Sunday May 19 through Friday May 24. The AGM is the central event in the WUN calendar, and draws together academic and administrative colleagues from member universities for research workshops, policy discussions and business meetings that develop and review our initiatives and activities.

This year’s meeting introduces several changes to strengthen the programme. We have scheduled a session for a collection of talks that highlight significant recent achievements of WUN-supported research; we have a new section of the programme (and an accompanying workshop) devoted to a special topic of central interest to academic administrators—this year “Student Mental Health”; we have sequenced business meetings to provide a better flow.

In addition to these structural changes, the program acknowledges and celebrates the recent enlargement of our mission to include undergraduate education, with the Presidents’ Forum on “Liberal Education for the 21st Century.”

I look forward to seeing you in Dublin!

Peter Lennie
WUN Executive Director
